The Uptown Art Fair in Minneapolis

There were some cool things at the art show this year. None of that farmer renaissance art you'd hang at your cabin. There was some truly magnificent stone and glass work and lots of beautiful paintings.

It was $9 to park - just about every where nearby.

Becky asked, "What did you ask him?"

"I asked if woodpeckers were a problem. He misunderstood my question."

The Mill City Museum

Toward the end of the 19th century, Minneapolis was the "Flour Milling Capital of the World." The Mill City website says that they were making enough flour to bake 12 million loaves of bread a day.

It was due to the power of the falls on the Mississippi in the area now known as St.Anthony in Minneapolis.

This is a really cool museum. It has a video that plays on a big screen that is narrated by a guy named Kevin Kling. This guy is hilarious, and I promise you- Seeing him do this video is worth the price of admission. You'll laugh and swell with pride to be a Minnesotan listening to him.

The elevator ride is also really cool. The whole experience is outstanding. The Mill City Museum is right next to the Guthrie. Make an afternoon date of it. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.
